About Pact’s Election Work in NigeriaPact supported eight partners to work in 16 states in all six geo-political zones of Nigeria to observe the elections there. Pact and its partners trained and deployed a total of 500 election observers in March ahead of the April elections. Pact Nigeria collaborated with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) for election work and both organizations were supported by USAID. The eight partners were also trained on how to send Twitter messages to make the process more transparent and inclusive. A few of the partners tried their hands at tweeting and we followed their reports, coordinated by ZCC for the eight partners. After each election, some partners organized press conferences to share their observer reports at the polling stations covered, the situation in their target states, as well as the elections results. One of the partners, Zero Corruption Coalition (ZCC), coordinated one such initiative to mark the end of the Presidential, National and State Assemblies as well as the Governorship elections. At the end of all elections, Pact’s partners presented their findings to the electoral bodies in their respective states as well as at the national level. For further information please contact:
