Grant funding supports establishing a model clinic and home-based care program in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, for provision of comprehensive care to people living with HIV and AIDS. Funds enable increased access to comprehensive home-based care for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families, and provide community education and advocacy to increase knowledge about HIV/AIDS and to reduce the stigma associated with it. The Project Hope Community REACH clinic is housed at the Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital (pictured to the right). This clinic builds upon existing clinical and community resources and uses a comprehensive HIV care model developed in Guatemala by Clinica Familiar Luis Angel Garcia (ASI), Project Hope's local sub-grantee partner. In establishing this clinic, Project Hope has learned that there is no standard protocol for comprehensive care and support in Honduras.
