Community REACH RHAPName: Community REACH RHAP Under RHAP Pact is implementing a grants management program in Botswana that includes targeted technical assistance and capacity building that contributes to the achievement of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) goals and the Botswana National Strategic Framework for HIV/AIDS (2003 – 2009). Currently Pact manages some 35 subgrants to community-based organizations, faith-based organizations and NGOs. The grants are designed to improve community-based prevention, care and support services in collaboration with people living positively with HIV and civil society. In addition Pact provides training and technical assistance to strengthen local level participation, management and leadership. To date 72,000 people are receiving ARV treatment, 70,148 new HIV infections have been prevented; and 165,000 people are receiving care and support, including 55,000 orphans and vulnerable children.
