On May 2, 2008, a large cyclone slammed into the coast of Myanmar, killing thousands of people and displacing tens of thousands more (view images of the aftermath here). With one of the largest NGO presences in Myanmar, Pact is in a position to channel aid and help those who need it the most.
We estimate that we can quickly mobilize to reach 75,000 households with food aid, 50,000 with oral rehydration solution, and 20,000 with plastic water containers. Down the road, we hope to be able also to help survivors of the cyclone to rebuild their lives. A donation to Pact will enable our local staff to speed basic support to those most affected.
