Alden House works to provide former Intravenous Drug Users (IDUs) with the knowledge, skill and confidence to protect themselves from HIV infection, tools to maintain good health, and support for their re-integration to productive and viable society.  For the last 14 years, Alden House has also been running a shelter for former IDUs who have been infected with HIV.  Program beneficiaries are offered information and resources regarding further prevention of the spread of HIV, counseling and support programs, and are linked with other relevant health services.  Alden House is peer driven, with past residents working as staff members and individual support providers.
