How We Engage

Government

Pact recognizes that good governance and responsive service delivery that are highly dependent on effective government institutions. We continually are expanding our direct engagement with public sector institutions at local and national levels. The approach we use focuses on developing effective linkages between the public sector and civil society and providing technical assistance to increase capacity of government institutions to design systems that are accountable, transparent, and free of corruption.

In several countries, where government authority has recently devolved to local and/or regional government, Pact also is involved with helping to build the capacity of freshly minted institutions. In addition we assist governments in anticipating and managing conflicts at local, regional and national levels.
