Many civil society leaders joined government, leaving a leadership gap, while other CSOs have become factionalized and unable to reach common ground regarding priority areas for advocacy. KCSSP works nation-wide throughout Kenya to achieve:
KCSSP is providing mentoring, training, and subgrants to a variety of organizations in both the DG and NRM sectors to strengthen the organizations' internal structures and external effectiveness.
Emerging resultsThe project has conducted a value chain analysis of the NRM sector and has issued its first subgrants to both DG and NRM organizations. It also has conducted training for subgrantee partners on strategic planning, financial management, and advocacy. Subgrant activities are now underway and full results expected to emerge over the course of the second year of the program. For more information, please visit the Kenyan Civil Society Strengthening Program website, www.kcssp.org.
