Community REACH MalawiName: Community REACH Malawi
Duration: December 1, 2006 - December 31, 2011 Donor: USAID In Malawi Pact’s strategic approach combined the efficient distribution of funds through the Community REACH grant mechanism with comprehensive technical assistance and capacity building for NGOs, supporting a coordinated, country-level US Government responses to HIV/AIDS. The program objectives were:
1. To implement an effective and transparent grant award and administration system to support responsive and fast-track assistance to organizations responding to the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Malawi. 2. To provide implementers with access to the financial resources and high-quality technical expertise they need to deliver effective programming and report results. 3. To expand and strengthen the Malawian civil society response to HIV/AIDS by providing capacity building to local, regional, national, and international organizations to increase their capacity to provide and sustain HIV/AIDS and related health services. Pact provided and facilitated access to technical and logistical assistance to support design and implementation of quality HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support programs by our subgrantees. Additionally Pact provided technical support to subgrantees on organizational development to foster sustainability, as well as on monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to ensure high standards of data reliability, timeliness, and integrity.
