Pact Names Warshauer COO

Washington, D.C., May 28, 2010 -- William Warshauer is the new Chief Operating Officer of Pact. He will oversee new business development, program development and delivery, policy/advocacy, strategic partnerships and overall operations for the global development agency.
“Will’s appointment will strengthen our operational efficiencies and enable us to integrate strategies that will position Pact to grow in scale and impact,” said Pact president and CEO Mark Viso. “His extensive experience in administering health-related and philanthropic programs in Africa and Asia makes him an invaluable asset to our capacity-building efforts around the world.”
Viso announced the appointment this week to the organization’s Washington headquarters and 24 field offices in Asia, Eurasia, Africa and Latin America.
Warshauer launched his career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone. Later, in private industry, he was responsible for administering multimillion-dollar programs in Pakistan, Myanmar and throughout Africa. He has also served as a consultant to international organizations such as UNICEF and UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS.
Most recently, Warshauer was EVP for health and development solutions with Washington-based Voxiva, Inc., a leading provider of interactive mobile solutions in the health sector. Formerly, Warshauer served as EVP at Population Services International (PSI), where he was responsible for business development, new product development and corporate strategy. Prior to that, he was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a $90 million annual portfolio of PSI's international health programs in East and Southern Africa.
Warshauer is a graduate of Yale University and earned a master’s in public affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University. He currently lives with his wife and daughter in Washington, DC.
