Pact History in the Congo
Pact opened its doors in Lubumbashi in April 2003. Until 2006, Pact’s work was geographically focused on Katanga province. In 2006, we expanded our presence in the Congo through work on the Central African Regional Program for the Environment (CARPE), which took us to Salonga National Park, which straddles the provinces of Equateur, Bandundu and Kasaï Oriental and Occidental, and the Okapi Wildlife Reserve in Oriental province.
