Sectors

Pact's work in strengthening public and private organizations and institutions targets five programmatic sectors: democracy and governance, HIV/AIDS, livelihoods, natural resource management and peace building. While the greater share of our projects fall within the first two sectors, we see all five sectors as equal in importance. When, in a country, we are working in multiple sectors (often with multiple donors), we strive to integrate our interventions to leverage impact. Drilling bore holes in Southern Sudan to bring potable water to people who have no ready access to clean water, can offer opportunities to introduce income generation activities to women or to organize village disease surveillance committees to fight Guinea worm and cholera.
