Who We Are

Mark Viso

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mark Viso is the architect of “Pact 3.0” – the next evolution of an organization marking 40 years of international development impact. He brings a passion for international relief and development and experience as both a teacher and leader to his mission to solidify the organization’s foundation for integrity, greater impact and future growth.

To deliver on Pact’s promise, Mr. Viso and his executive team have established new signature programs, strengthened financial management and introduced a new finance and grants management system, re-engineered the global HR organization and streamlined and standardized business processes.

Before taking up the leadership of Pact, Mr. Viso was senior vice president for international programs at World Learning. As part of a multi-year strategic realignment, he introduced a balanced scorecard and a portal for web-based knowledge exchange and diversified and funding sources, growing the international development portfolio more than 22 percent in two years.

He came to World Learning after 12 years at World Vision, where he was most recently responsible for programs in 80 countries. His field experience includes multi-year assignments directing country programs in Vietnam, Azerbaijan and Bosnia and a three-year stint as a senior program officer with AMIDEAST in the West Bank/Gaza field office.

His oversight of the World Vision portfolio extended to grant acquisition and management, private fundraising and program support, resource allocation and grant making, program strategy and performance, technical assistance and financial management. He also was selected to serve as a Practitioner-in-Residence at the SIT Graduate Institute, which prepares students from 30 countries to drive social change related to critical global issues.

Mr. Viso is a founding member of the EKI Micro Credit Organization Board and an executive member of NGO/World Bank PRSP Consultative Commission. He is on the boards of the Basic Education Coalition, the Millennium Water Alliance and the Society for International Development. He has chaired the Coalition for Food Aid, NGO Council of Bosnia and the ICVA Managing Consortium.
