WORTH's success has been recognized with the following awards and distinctions:
Bread for the World's 2006 "Offering of Letters" campaign to increase federal funding for poverty reduction programs featured a video of WORTH's work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as an example of how poverty-focused funding can make a meaningful difference in peoples lives. The video was distributed to 2,500 congregations to promote letter writing to their U.S. House of Representatives and Senators.
In 2005, Amazon.com, in partnership with Stanford University Graduate School of Business, selected WORTH as one of 10 finalists for its first NGO Nonprofit Innovation Award. Chosen from over 1,000 applicants to be featured on Amazon.com's website, the nomination helped to raise significant support for WORTH.

The World Bank's Development Marketplace Innovation Competition, 2002 for "Combating HIV/AIDS: A Literacy and Economic Approach."
The World Bank's Development Marketplace Innovation Competition, 2000 for "Building Sustainable Village Banking in Nepal."
UN/Habitat/Dubai "Best Practice Award," July 2000, awarded on the basis of tangible impact, partnership, sustainability, social inclusiveness and leadership in inspiring action and change.
The World Bank and the Government of Japan, through the Global Development Network, cited WEP as one of the ten most innovative development projects in the world in their 2000 development innovation competition.
