Joel Nibigira

Joel Nibigira has over 15 years of experience with Burundian civil society, advancing from governance civil society activism to senior INGO leadership roles on projects and initiatives related to advocacy, livelihoods, peacebuilding, social cohesion, capacity development, and media programming. Joel has served as acting chief of party, deputy COP, and program manager for the USAID-funded Burundi Youth for Peace Building II project and the USAID Burundi Turi Kumwe project.  

A seasoned manager, Joel has successfully led diverse program teams for Counterpart International, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Search for Common Ground (SFCG), the Training Centre for Development of Ex-Combatants/Action on Armed Violence in Burundi (CEDAC/AOAV), and Amazi Water. He has a proven record in strategic planning, training, coaching, and team management to achieve programs' desired outcomes.
