The Promoting Mercury-Free Mining Ghana Project (Pro-MFM) is a three-year (2020-2023) U.S. Department of State-funded project being implemented by Pact and Solidaridad. The project aims to reduce the use of mercury in Ghana’s artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) sector through education, introduction of better technology, strengthened equipment supply chains and demonstrating business incentives for mercury-free gold production.
