Rural energy resilience trends in Myanmar: Snapshot of analysis and insights in response to major events
February 23, 2022
Energy
This January 2022 technical brief summarizes Smart Power Myanmar’s analysis of data from 29 mini-grid sites and 14,000+ household surveys. Our findings reveal that – despite all that has happened in Myanmar – electricity consumption remains stable while household and business mini-grid connections continue to rise. We also found that, due to rising diesel prices and a lack of awareness among business owners, there are many opportunities to transition businesses away from diesel generators to mini-grid power.
