Transitioning OVC services and DREAMS to local prime implementers
June 27, 2024
The transition of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Services and DREAMS programs to local partners is a crucial undertaking that demands partnership, coordination, and capacity development. In June 2023, ACHIEVE Tanzania initiated an extensive assessment to document their experiences participating in the transition process to the locally-led Kizazi Hodari projects.
On June 20, 2024, Pact/ACHIEVE Tanzania, and its stakeholders including government, USAID, and local partners, joined a discussion to share lessons learned, best practices, and success factors on the OVC and DREAMS transition to locally led partners in Tanzania. The panelists also provided participants with an insider’s perspective on how to navigate similar transitions in their own contexts, ultimately contributing to the sustainability and effectiveness of development initiatives.
