Pact joins call for immediate action for artisanal mining communities during Covid-19 crisis

This week, Pact joined more than 70 civil society organizations and community-based associations in calling for immediate and concerted action from governments, financing institutions, international organizations, the private sector and others to support artisanal mining communities and to shore up their resilience during the Covid-19 crisis.

Covid-19 has made even more apparent the gaping inequalities in mineral supply chains. It is imperative that we protect the hard-won gains that have been made around human rights and due diligence in mineral supply chains and work together to support artisanal mining communities during this time.
