Deputy Chief of Party, REFRESH


Amakhosi Jere is deputy chief of party for the Restoring Fisheries for Sustainable Livelihoods in Lake Malawi project (REFRESH). Additionally, he serves as the country lead for the Momentum Country and Global Leadership (MCGL), overseeing the integrated approach of REFRESH and MCGL in Malawi. He manages a youth-friendly, gender-transformative strategy aimed at advancing positive youth development and promoting the uptake and accessibility of adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and family planning services in fishing communities residing in Nkhata Bay District on Lake Malawi.

Amakhosi brings 14 years of working experience in partnership development, private sector engagement, stakeholder engagement and management, governance and project management across the social and economic sectors. His expertise encompasses program conceptualization, development, operations, implementation and management, with a strong focus on results management and adaptive learning.

Prior to joining Pact, Amakhosi worked for the National Association of Local Government Authorities, a strategic institution facilitating development at the grassroots level through decentralized structures. He also worked for Tilionse Foundation as programmes (grants) manager, Land O Lakes as a private sector development technical lead, Development Aid from People to People as deputy country director, and more.
