Rehani Jumaine Mkangya

Rehani Mkangya has 15 years of experience with international organizations in the fields of livelihoods and the environment, particularly in participatory research for development programs. His professional career began in the field of food security and environment within small farmers' networks. Prior to pact, Rehani worked as a research assistant with Cetro Internationali d'Agricultura Tropicali (CIAT-Colombia), and thereafter with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). His previous roles focused on research carried out with farming households, and the response in a participatory and sustainable way to the agricultural challenges of small-scale producers in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Currently, Rehani works as an Agronomist Specialist Advisor and is the Chief of Party within the USAID Funded Tanganyika Conflict Mitigation and Reconciliation project (TCMR). He works to reduce the incidence of conflicts between the Batwa and Baluba people by strengthening peace reconciliation efforts, conflict mitigation mechanisms, resolution processes and increasing cooperation. The project's aim is to improve livelihoods through social cohesion and collaboration.
