World Toilet Day: Promoting WASH and waste management in Myanmar

Nov. 19 marks World Toilet Day. This year’s theme, Leave No One Behind, draws attention to those still without sanitation, and the social, economic and environmental consequences of inaction.

Pact Myanmar’s Swan Yi III project, funded by The Coca-Cola Foundation, is improving the socio-economic lives of communities and children by promoting access to WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and waste management. So far, 2,873 students from four schools and 13,261 residents in 10 villages have received 56,426,995 kyats ($36,880 USD) for WASH and Waste Management activities in the Hmawbi and Hlaingtharya townships of Yangon.
