David Skaggs

Former U.S. Rep. David Skaggs is a senior strategic advisor and consultant with the law firm McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP. Before joining MLA, he was in the cabinet of Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter Jr., as executive director of both the Colorado Department of Higher Education and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. His previous posts include time as executive director of the Center for Democracy & Citizenship at the Council for Excellence in Government and as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado. He served 12 years in Congress representing Colorado’s 2nd District and three terms in the state’s legislature, including as minority leader. He is a Marine Corps and Vietnam War veteran.
