Elijah Sinyinza
Country Director, Zambia
Dr. Elijah Sinyinza is Pact's country director in Zambia and chief of party for the USAID Zambia Integrated Health Activity. Elijah brings an extensive background in global health programming and health systems strengthening, with particular expertise in capacity development, management, Zambia's health sector, and building relationships with government. Prior to joining Pact, Elijah served as director for Akros Research Project on the Saving Lives and Livelihoods Programme, implementing Covid-19 vaccine safety surveillance activities in the Eastern and Southern Africa regions. Elijah also served as chief of party for the USAID-funded Systems for Better Health project, which improved health outcomes for Zambians by strengthening systems for human resources for health, health care financing, policies and guidelines for HIV/AIDS, reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition, and family planning. Elijah holds a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from Tulane University in the United States, and a medical degree from Pleven Medical University in Bulgaria.
