Project bulletin: Piloting National Action Plan Implementation in Sierra Leone (Feb. 2022)

This Bulletin presents recent progress updates from the Piloting National Action Plan Implementation in Sierra Leone project. Highlights include:

  • Pact supported miners in Bolaneh community to establish the Bolaneh Gold Miners and Traders Association (BMTA), register with the District Council, open a bank account and apply for three mining licenses.
  • Pact is supporting Bolaneh community in mine planning. Following Pact’s advice, miners of BMTA are removing a dangerous ‘hanging wall’ to improve mine safety.
