Pact announces the appointment of three new board members

Pact, a leader in community-led global development, today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Carolina Rojas-Hayes, James Donovan and Tewodros Melesse. Elected in April, they will begin serving this month. Each of the members brings unique expertise and experience, as well as a unifying commitment to achieve Pact’s vision of thriving, resilient and engaged communities leading their own development

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am thrilled to welcome these incredible leaders as fellow board members,” said Mark Fitzgerald, Pact’s Board Chair. “They bring new areas of expertise to the board that will further strengthen our ability to support Pact in developing evidence-based, data-driven solutions for human development."

The Board of Directors is responsible for oversight of the overall health of the organization, particularly as it relates to the strategy and finances.

“I am pleased to welcome Carolina, James and Tewodros to Pact’s Board of Directors,” said Caroline Anstey, Pact President & CEO. “They will provide important guidance and support to senior management and the wider organization as we implement our new three-year strategy launched last October, and I look forward to working with and learning from them."

Carolina Rojas-Hayes
Rojas-Hayes has 20 years of experience in the public sector and international financial institutions, including in the mining and energy sectors, investment promotion and international development. As an energy and extractives consultant, Rojas-Hayes provides strategic advice on policy, governance and stakeholder engagement for institutions and companies in the energy and extractives industries. Prior to consulting, she was the Deputy Minister of Mines in Colombia. She has also worked for the Colombian Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, Development Bank of Latin America, Inter-American Development Bank and World Bank, among other institutions. She is based in Bogota, Colombia.

James Donovan
Donovan is an entrepreneur focused on impact investing that generates measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial return. With more than 25 years of investment banking and entrepreneurial expertise, Donovan has invested in the areas of sustainability, healthcare, education, technology and data management. He is co-founder and CEO of ADEC Innovations and Chairman of the Global CEO Alliance. Donovan delivers innovative ESG solutions to Fortune 1000 corporations, and his companies have developed some of the most advanced applications that promote ethical and sustainable practices in the corporate world. He is also closely involved with the United Nations South-South Cooperation and the UN Environment Programme. He is based in Istanbul, Turkey.

Tewodros Melesse
Melesse has more than 35 years of experience working across the African continent with subregional and regional organizations. He is a global health expert with more than three decades of experience planning, developing, monitoring and managing large-scale development, reproductive health and HIV/AIDS programs. Most recently, Melesse was Director General of International Planned Parenthood Federation. Prior to IPFF, he worked for Pathfinder International, International Planned Parenthood Federation in Kenya, and Family Planning International Assistance in Kenya, among other organizations. He is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
