Building trust and collaboration in southeastern Myanmar

Building trust and collaboration in southeastern Myanmar

To commemorate World Social Day of Justice observed on February 20, the Advancing Community Empowerment (ACE) project supported by USAID is showcasing how ACE is helping to build trust and collaboration between communities and local authorities.

ACE consortium partner, Mercy Corps is implementing interest-based mediation (IBM) in eight townships of Mon, Kayin, Shan and Kayah states. Currently a total of 213 Ward and Village Tract Administrators have been trained in conflict mediation and resolution skills. For many, it is very exciting and significantly changed the way they viewed differences and worked on disputes. Find out more in this extended feature video focusing on IBM in Kayah and Southern Shan States.
