Empowering women in rural communities in Kayah State, Myanmar

November 29, 2018

The Advancing Community Empowerment (ACE) project, funded by USAID, is working in 23 villages in three townships in Kayah State, establishing and strengthening Village Health Committees, which were formed during Community Introductory Workshops. Community members are helping to coordinate and collaborate with their Village Development Committees, service providers and other volunteers to implement Community Action Plans.

ACE is also using Pact's signature women’s empowerment program, WORTH, which brings women and older girls together in groups to build their capacity, save money, access credit and start small businesses.

To date under the ACE project, a total of eight Critical Service Grants are helping to reduce community vulnerabilities in southeastern Myanmar.
