Quadrupling sales through reliable electricity access

December 12, 2019

Khin Cho Wint lives in a rural village in Myanmar with electricity access supplied through a decentralized mini-grid. She took an interest-free loan from Smart Power Myanmar’s Energy Impact Fund and received support to improve her business, after which she bought an electric fuel pump, a decision that quadrupled the revenue of the shop she runs. Through partnerships with private companies, investors, donors and rural communities, Smart Power Myanmar, managed by Pact, works to increase access to affordable, reliable and clean electricity for people like Khin Cho Wint, supporting Myanmar’s plan to achieve universal electrification by 2030.
