How to build an integrated energy ecosystem in Myanmar

June 19, 2019

Smart Power Myanmar, in partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation, the German and French development agencies, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), recently released a comprehensive market assessment that for the first time sheds light on the potential for distributed energy solutions in Myanmar, and helps identify key recommendations for investors, developers, donors, development agencies and policymakers to accelerate access to energy in the country.

In the three-video series below, Smart Power Myanmar spoke with key stakeholders in the energy sector about the significance of the report as well as challenges, opportunities and priorities for advancing Myanmar’s future “Grid 2.0” – an integrated energy ecosystem in which the national grid is complemented by viable, decentralised renewable energy solutions to meet the country’s energy needs.
