Pact and its partners have worked to build a responsible artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector in Mauritania. With Magma Group and Aurum Monaco, Pact supported small-scale gold miners and blacksmiths to adopt improved methods for gold processing and jewelry-making with reduced environmental and health impacts. We helped to strengthen government and regional stakeholders on due diligence and the novel EU Conflict Minerals Regulation.
