Pact is working in Liberia to stem deforestation and biodiversity loss while making sure forest-dependent communities and local farmers are able to earn a dignified living. By strengthening forest value chains, establishing legal and management frameworks for forest enterprises, and building the forest-management capacity of local organizations, Pact is making a lasting difference in Liberia.

Among the tools we’re using is our award-winning WORTH model, which brings together groups of women and older teens and uses a combination of literacy training, community banking and micro-business development to help women lift themselves and one another out of poverty.

Pact is also building the capacity of Liberian health and social services organizations to respond to HIV, helping the country move closer to HIV epidemic control.
